Introducing Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who have spent years delving into contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We view meditation not as clearing the mind or attaining a flawless state of zen. It's about learning to stay with whatever arises—the wandering thoughts, the planning brain, and that peculiar itch that tends to show up a few minutes after sitting.

Our team combines decades of practice from various traditions. Some arrived at meditation via scholarly philosophy, others through personal challenges, and a few simply discovered it in college and stayed. We all share a commitment to teaching meditation as a usable life skill rather than a mystical pursuit.

Every guide has a unique approach to explaining ideas; Ravi often uses everyday-life analogies, while Ananya draws on psychology. We've found that different styles resonate with different people, so you may feel a stronger connection with some methods.

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began practicing meditation in 1998 after burning out from a software engineering career. He studied Vipassana for three years in Myanmar and later trained in Zen in Japan. His strength lies in explaining ancient ideas through fresh, relatable analogies—like likening a restless mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He coaches our core courses and specializes in helping busy professionals establish sustainable meditation habits. His sessions often include practical discussions about weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypassing.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya blends her PhD in United Kingdom Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She discovered contemplative practice while researching old texts and realized that academic understanding means little without experiential insight. Her approach bridges scholarly insight with practical application.

She guides our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a gift for making complex philosophical concepts accessible without simplifying them. Her students often say she helps them understand not just how to meditate, but why these practices developed and what they're really meant to accomplish.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we've found that meditation thrives when it is demystified. We don't promise enlightenment or claim you'll reach perfect serenity. Instead, we focus on building skills that help you navigate life's inevitable challenges with greater awareness and less reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, allowing time to see if this approach feels right for you. We believe in taking time to make mindful choices about contemplative practice—not rushing in on impulse.

If you're curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill, we'd be glad to help you explore. The practice has subtly but profoundly transformed our lives, and we've witnessed the same for many others.
